In the beginning
If you’ve been sending emails for the longest time and using Canva nearly the same length of time you would understand the time it takes to download the Canva design and then upload it to MailerLite.
Canva makes it easier than ever to create Canva graphics for your regular email that you’re using MailerLite for to remain in contact with your mailing list.
This video will share with you, in under 2 minutes, how quick and easy it is to integrate Canva and MailerLite.
Integrating Words
For those who wish to read and implement, here’s how you do it:
Create your Canva design as you normally would. Be mindful of sizing, you don’t want it to be teeny tiny or overly large.
Once you’ve created the design and it’s ready to be used, navigate to the top right of the Canva screen and click on the “share” button instead of downloading it.
Scroll down until you see the “… More” option.
You want to click on that.
Here you will need to scroll down a bit more until you get to “More Options” – this is where you will find the MailerLite option.
Now when you click on this, Canva is going to want you to link your MailerLite with itself.
Go through the motions – the onscreen instructions are pretty easy and clear to follow.
Once you’ve done that click on “Save”. This will save your Canva design to MailerLite in 1 of two options: either as a JPG or PNG file. My recommendation would be to opt for a JPG format simply because this format is smaller in size than PNG.
A pop-up will appear on your Canva screen saying, “Your design has been saved!”
You can either continue editing (the design) or go to your Canva homepage.
However, to make sure that your gorgeous Canva design is saved in MailerLite, go and click on the “View in MailerLite” option.
Your default browser will now open, and the opened tab will go to the “File Manager” of MailerLite where it will show your Canva design.
And that’s how easy it is!
Important Email News
Before I leave you, I want to issue a word of warning about the shortcut of using your Canva graphic as the ONLY content in your newly created MailerLite email.
Don’t be tempted!
What you’re creating in Canva is a graphic. It’s a picture and pictures do not work as an email on its own.
Yes, but what if I download it as a PDF and attach that to the email – a different kettle of fish altogether. I’ll get to that.
Have you ever received an email where the whole body is blank and then the top left-hand corner is a little red x? That’s a graphic that was created containing ALL of the content of the email.
I use MS Outlook to receive my emails and have deleted MANY emails that insist I download the picture to read the email. It doesn’t happen.
The email gets deleted.
And when the next email comes through that looks exactly the same, I unsubscribe to never look back again.
Getting back to PDFs as your email … sending it from MailerLite as a PDF attachment is not possible.
The only way you can do this is by sending it from your regular email provider as an attachment OR providing a download link to access the PDF. You may even have a landing page type setup where the content can be found, or a Google Doc or some such.
Unless somebody is expecting an attachment from you, they’re not going to click on it. So save your link to read externally for nurture sequencing or give your reader a dang good reason to click on the link.
Disclaimer though … If I don’t know you from Adam and have never received an email from you before; me clicking on your link is not going to happen. I have an aversion to infected computers!
Conclusion
Integrate Canva with MailerLite – it shortens the up-and-download process.
Don’t create your email as a Canva graphic.
And of course … have fun in Canva!
